January 20 at 7pm –Celebrate a Return to the 1920’s: A special fund raiser to benefit the Averitt’s young actors, dancers and artists.
For over a decade, the paintings of Jeff Williams an Atlanta-based artist, have been inspired by the formal and flamboyant style of the Art Deco.Williams’work is imbued with intricate patterns, lush rich colors, and early Twentieth Century fashion and lifestyle embellishments recalling the work of Erte’ and Lalique. His subjects seem perpetually frozen in a moment of splendid social grace and invite us into a world that was once more lush and more graceful. Williams was chosen as one of twelve artists from America to participate in the prestigiousSociete Nationale des Beaux-Arts Show at the Carrousel Du Louvre in Paris, France and in 2009 was commissioned as The Official Artist for the 2009 Kentucky Derby. In 2011, he was inducted into the Americus Walk of Fame.
