Recapturing an Era of Style and Sophistication

Jeff Williams, a native Georgian, began painting as a child and knew at an early age that art would be his life’s work. Growing up with five sisters gave him an amazing sense of style, which is most evident in the fashionable ensembles he creates for the ladies in his paintings. After graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta in 1989, Williams formed a commercial and graphics art firm, Intergrated Images. Despite the company‘s success, painting has always remained his first love. Williams toured Europe in Fall 2002 and found himself deeply influenced by the Old World atmosphere. In keeping with the European influences, his most recent work employs stain washes for a more subtle and elegant look. Many of the unique characters in his works were inspired by the people he met during his travels. While Williams’ paintings are typically colorful and full of character, His use of metal leaf, textures have broken the plane of the canvas and added a new dimension to his paintings. Williams is very drawn to and inspired by the Art Deco period of the 1920s and ’30s. Perhaps his attraction to the era can be attributed to his personal connection to the spirit of the times, a “Happy Celebration of Life” It is his hope that his work will evoke a similar sense of joy on his audience. In 2007 Jeff was invited to participate in the prestigious Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts Show at the Carrousel Du Louvre in Paris. He was commissioned as The Official Artist for the 2009 Kentucky Derby. He was honored by being invoked into the “Walk of Fame” in front of the Historical Rylander Theatre in Americus, Georgia. Jeff’s paintings hang in private and commercial collections worldwide. He has been represented by many fine art galleries across the United States.
